The Benefits of Studying with a Teacher -
AmSAT certified teachers of the Alexander Technique spend 1600 hours over a 3 year period developing their skills of observation and communication. Instruction from a certified teacher facilitates the student’s learning immensely. Since habits are unconscious it takes a highly trained teacher to help you perceive and change ingrained patterns. While reading about the technique is beneficial, there is a big difference between understanding Alexander’s concepts and embodying them. Studying with a certified AT teacher gives the kinesthetic experience necessary to take years off the journey.
