Private Lessons
Group Classes

Studying the Alexander Technique in a group class offers an opportunity to learn from watching others in the group, as well as a less expensive alternative to private lessons*. Classes are offered intermittently throughout the year. Typically they are 1 month long, limited to 8 or fewer participants, and focused on a single application of the Alexander Technique such as AT for Actors or AT for Chronic Pain.

  • AT for Actors addresses personal movement habits, warm-ups, breathing and being present/available in the moment.
  • AT for Dancers addresses personal movement habits, stretching, warm-ups, and injury prevention/recuperation.
  • AT for Musicians addresses personal movement habits, breathing and interaction with your instrument.
  • AT for Chronic Pain addresses the effects of personal movement habits, pain and compensatory misuse, and how to begin exercising without re-injury, pain or burnout.
  • AT for New Parents addresses getting up and down from floor, crawling, carrying your infant/toddler and attendant bags, stress management and how your habits effect your child.
  • AT for Stress Management addresses physical responses to stressful situations, personal physical habits, breathing, and the power to choose behavior consciously during stressful times.
  • AT for Basic Fitness is appropriate for those completely new to exercise or those who want to experience more freedom and less discomfort during their activity or sport. It addresses personal physical habits, injury prevention and recuperation, enjoying exercise and avoiding burnout.
  • AT Review is for continuing students.

*It is recommended that group class participants have at least 1 private lesson.
